Prepare for a power outage

Remember these things:

• Save in advance the information channels to your devices that you can use to receive updates during a widespread and prolonged emergency situation. Check which Finnish public information channels offer updates in a language you understand. For example: 112 Suomi mobile app, Yle’s news website, Yle News radio broadcast, Yle Radio 1 (89,8 MHz in Turku).

• A power outage is not in itself a reason to call the national emergency number, unless there is an immediate danger to life, health, or property. However, download the 112 Suomi app to your phone and place its icon on your home screen in case of emergencies. In case of an emergency, you can make an emergency call through the app, and your location information will be automatically relayed to the emergency response centre.

• Save Turku Energia’s fault report emergency number in your phone: 0800 02001. Remember, however, that we monitor the status of the electricity network around the clock. We update the information on our communication channels as soon as possible. For this reason, there is no need to call us right when a power outage begins. First, check our communication channels.

• Save the link to our outage map in your browser favorites. Major faults are registered in our systems immediately and appear on the map right away. Minor faults are not shown automatically, but we update the map as soon as possible.

• Subscribe to our outage notifications to your mobile phone and email. (Instructions and notifications are in Finnish.)
